Cloud Computing firm
Humyo is to be acquired by Trend Micro, the renowned IT Security firm in a move
that signals improved cloud security.
Cloud computing is where applications and/or data are located online and
accessed via specialist software and/or web browsers from local
computers. This allows users to access their information from different
locations and the online service providers handle the IT online,
Cloud Computing security has been of concern primarily due to the potential for
hacking attempts and trust in the Cloud Computing provider.
By acquiring Humyo, a provider of Cloud Computing Trend Micro could improve the
cloud security generally for customers.
Since one the reasons for reluctance to take up Cloud Computing is security,
Trend as a significant provider could go a long way towards alleviating Cloud
Computing security concerns.
Also, Trend Micro is an established company and hence this may also address
concerns regarding Cloud Computing service provider viability.
Many consider the future of Cloud Computing to be uncertain. This is for
various reasons with one of the main concerns being the cloud security.
Should trusted and respected companies such as Trend become more involved, then
the take up of Cloud Computing may improve as the trust improves.
We believe that with Cloud Computing security Trend as the provider, this
signals a major positive step for the Cloud's future.
