A recent Microsoft
Update for it's Windows 2000 Server products has been pulled with plans to
re-release an update in the next week.
The Windows 2000 Server update was pulled and announced by Microsoft via
it's website and via twitter.
Update April 27,
2010: Microsoft re-releases Windows 2000 Server
update. |
We always believe that updating software, especially with security related
patches, is important.
Whilst updates might not necessarily be perfect, we still believe that it is
generally a good policy to implement updates to minimize emerging problems.
The Windows 2000 Server update is a specific update for that product.
However Microsoft does supply a number of products including Microsoft
Windows.
Windows itself is a major piece of software, the operating system on
most PCs, so it is extremely important that it be kept up to date via Microsoft
update.
If unsure on how to update Microsoft products, users should consult the
Microsoft website for Microsoft Update information.
Another piece of software of vital importance is security software.
Security software especially should be kept up to date with new threats as they
emerge.
Again whilst there may be some inconvenience, it is generally recognised as a
good policy to keep software up to date with security releases as vendors release
such updates.
